Grantville is located along the southern border of Coweta County. A number of episodes of the AMC series The Walking Dead were shot in the town. Since the shooting of the series tourism to the town has increased greatly, making it an important industry to the town.
The population was 1,309 at the 2000 census. In the city, the population was spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older.
